Where to Find Windmills in Spain

By DH Wall - Posted on February 22, 2009 at 1:31 pm

Who would have thought that part of Spain's vast and diverse landscape would be dotted with windmills?

It's true.

Windmills are anything but widespread, though Spain travelers may stumble upon windmills in places like the La Mancha region, Mallorca, Lanzarote, and Ibiza.

The most notable windmills in Spain are in the La Mancha region, a region south of Madrid, a region made famous by the book Don Quixote which takes place in the La Mancha region. Some of the nicest looking windmills in Spain are in the town of Consuegra in the La Mancha region.
